Amanda Zehner has a diverse background after years living abroad and working in international development, sustainable business entrepreneurship, and educational trip leading around the globe. Following graduation from Virginia Tech Amanda joined the Peace Corps and served as a volunteer in Western Africa. Upon her return, she earned a Master’s degree in International Development from Brandeis University, after which she worked as Program Director in Guatemala and Nicaragua managing sustainable agriculture programs throughout Central America. Throughout her career Amanda has managed and led educational, cultural and environmental trips that have provided travelers with the first hand experiences and learning that are essential for understanding an organization’s mission and impact. In 2014 Amanda founded the social enterprise Living Threads Co. with a mission to preserve artisan traditions and improve livelihoods. Today, Amanda is a Director for Iconic Adventures where she feels privileged to support mission driven organizations build and/or expand impactful and inspiring travel programs around the globe.
